What do you mean, Sustainability Engineering? Never heard of it; isn't it another ploy to get a government grant? 1 Reply

Sustainable is just what it sounds like only applied to energy its almost common sense and references Renewable not conventional, but an alternate route and thus alternative energy however its not just energy the term is applied to but also a Green lifestyle in housing, recycling, ecological protection and respect for the air & water! Consult the sites,  http://www.chtank.org/chaps.htm    or  also visit http://www.targetmartone.com to learn more on Green Residential Design as well as how to patent all products/services Green or Conventional!

Its  Sustainable if  it has a positive effect on animals and plants as well as the the environment in other words provides the ecosystem with positive growth wheather that be in housing, transportation, food production for man. Sustainability engineering integrates many areas that are related to it in function,  concept and methodology such as environmental and ecology and how to reduce material refuse into usable materials over and over, not just cradle to grave but cradle to cradle!

The Center for Sustainable Engineering gives a complete description of Sustainability Engineering. This is the definition in a nutshell:
"Sustainable Engineering may be defined as engineering for human development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (Bruntland Commission, 1987)."
Sustainability Engineered Projects are a freely available voluntary effort to provide alternatives to the high cost fossil fuels that pollute the atmosphere, water, and earth, to fight global warming, and within the guidelines of the Center for Sustainable Engineering.

From the above description comes the following: http://chtank.org/plan.htm and http://chtank.org (website server -host- is temp. down on 9-20-11 but should be functional soon). Also see http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~chtank/chaps.htm
